Review... 26th April
Here is the round up for the Chesterfield Town FC
games played this weekend …
CTFC
over 35’s played their last match of the season winning 3-1 away at
Tibshelf 2 goals from top scorer Graham Spelman and a superb free
kick from Phil Bradbury did the damage which means that
Town finish 4th in the table in our first season. A special
mention must go to Carl Rimmington as without his help the
season would not have been possible. Chesterfield
Town’s Saturday Men’s Team were without several key players and lost at
home to Duckmanton Community 2-0 in the league today. With only one league
game left Town need other teams to do them favours and beat Cricketers,
which is a tall order. If we get a draw in our last league game though we
will secure second place in the table. Chesterfield
Town under 18’s played a midweek fixture against Grassmoor at Grassmoor
Primary School and came out on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline. Scorers
for Town were Greg Hameson and Andrew Hicken. The under 18's also played
again at the weekend and fought out a tight game against LG FC eventually
going down 3-2. Town scorers on this occasion were Chris Pashley and
Andrew Crowder. The under 13’s had a very busy and rewarding week playing 3 games, winning two of them and drawing the other. They played on Tuesday 21st away at Alfreton and drew 1-1 with a goal scored by Cameron Smith. They also played on Thursday 23rd away at Tupton and won 3-1 Goals scored by Nathan Cahill (2) and Robbie Price. Man of the match was awarded to Nathan Cahill. Finally they played on Saturday 25th April at home to Brimwood, winning 3-0. Goals were scored by Robbie Price, Conor Cronin and Scott Smith. Man of the match was awarded to Thomas Palmer.
Chesterfield
Town under 12’s played against a very strong and in form Old Whittington
side who won 12-2. Rowsley under
11’s had a hard away match at league leaders Matlock Vipers this week.
Vipers took control of the game early on and never looked back running out
12-0 winners. Our man of match was Robbie Walters. Girls under
11’s played a cup game against Wirksworth, which we lost 1-0. Player of
the match was Hannah Williams. Girls under
10’s played in the Cup semi final against Duffield losing 7-0. Player of
the match was Emilie Palmer. Town under 9’s
played a friendly against Hasland Eagles and won 3-1. Players on target
for Town were Chad Martin and Charlie Olejniczak (2). With the pair
picking up player of the day awards also. The players enjoyed their last
match today as they played their best football of the season with
some excellent moves and goals. Young Charlie Olejniczak carried on from
where he left off from last week bagging 2 well taken goals and Chad also
getting himself a goal. Out of the last six games played the under 9’s
have only suffered 1 defeat. Carl would also
like to say a big thank you to the boys & parents for
all the effort they have put it. Lets try and carry on the current form
into the tournaments we will be playing. Well done everyone ! Town under 7’s
Saturday player of the day was Ethan Agutter |
