Here is the
round up for the Chesterfield Town FC games played this weekend
…
Chesterfield
Town u16s Played away at Cafa Cougars this weekend and came away with a
well deserved 4-1 Victory .Town started brightly and were camped in Cafa’s
half for the first 15/20 minutes playing some assured football and looking
really dangerous around the 18yrd box. Town took a deserved lead with some
great passing and movement off the ball ,and scored with a Arron Nugent
strike, Arron went on to score a hat trick with Lewis Elton providing the
other goal. Cafa cougars are a mid table team and made Town fight for our
first three points of the season but in the end some solid performances
from all the team Matt Jepson in goal and a outstanding debut in defence
from Ben Ibbottson in particular made the points safe and sent all the
parents home happy and wanting more.Well done to the team all the lads
were excellent. Chesterfield
Town Juniors under 15`s had their biggest ever win beating Arkwright
Vikings away 10 - 0. Town’s goals came from callum buxton with a superb
contribution of four goals, two goals from Jake Wignall and Reece Drabble
and a goal each for Jake Johnson and Luke Mitchell. CTFC
under 15’s 1 v Northwinfield Colts 9. The scorer for town was Stefan Booth
and Towns man of the match went to Kyle Edwards. CTFC
under 14`s boys played at home to Grassmoor and lost 4-2, Town goals came
from front man Conor Cronin, and man of the match was awarded to Connor
Vickers. CTFC
under 12`s girls played at home to Hasland, a very evenly matched
game which
ended Chesterfield Town FC 1 Hasland 2. Town’s goal scorer was Ellie Dunn
and player of the match was awarded to Olivia Owen for keeping a tight
defence. Town
under 11's (Rowsley) played Wirksworth Albion at home and drew 1 -1, goal
scorer was Conrad Cotterill. The game was very tight and competitive, with
Town scoring middle of first half and Wirksworth equalising ten minutes
later. All the lads played brilliantly against one of the top teams in the
league, Tom Dargavel just edged it as the man of the match. C T F C under
11’s 3 Bramley Sunnyside 1. Although
Town have always had close games with today's opponents Bramley
Sunnyside they are struggling at the foot of the table this season
with only 2 wins. However, they are never easy to beat, and today was no
exception; we got off to a strong start and only 7 minutes had gone when a
determined charge by Elliott Barker saw him win 3 tackles before
crossing for Danny Bagshaw to guide home the opening goal. We relaxed a
little too much and 4 minutes later a couple of timid tackles failed to
stop Bramley's top scorer equalising. This spurred us to attack with
more vigour and when Elliott was fouled at the edge of the box he
thundered a shot which the goalie could only parry into the path of the
predatory Dan B who prodded his second goal. We attacked pretty much
continuously until half time, with Jay Brown hitting the post before a
Lewis Drew throw found Danny B who made a bee-line for goal beating 2
defenders before side-footing us into a 3-1 lead just before the
break. Bramley
came out stronger after the half time break, but our defence was solid and
limited them to a handful of half chances without seriously
troubling Joe Mitchell in goal. At the other end, Oliver Rowley's
tricky footwork led to him being bundled over in the area; with regular
spot kick man Bradley Preece taking a breather, Elliott volunteered
to take the free shot, only for the goalie to make a comfortable
save. Although we remained on the offensive for most of the half, we
failed to add to MOM Danny's hat-trick, his 2nd in 3 games. Defenders also
took the eye, with Jacob Higgins, George Spacie, Ryan Blacklaws
and Lewis providing a solid base for our first back to back wins of the
season, which sees us move out of the dreaded drop zone for the first time
since October!! Kiveton
