About Us...

The Club was formed in the summer of 2004 with it's main aim being to provide the youngsters living in and around the Dunston, Moor and St Helens Wards of Chesterfield with a chance to play organised football. Players living outside these areas though are of course more than welcome to join our rapidly expanding club.

Club founder, Tim Sadler, was aware that junior clubs were not playing at either Highfield Park or Stand Road Park and he set out to change this. We kicked off the 2004/05 season with our Under 16's team playing home matches at Stand Road Park and they won the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League's prestigiuos 'A' Division in addition to reaching the final of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County F.A. Youth Cup. We fielded two teams in the Saturday Morning Rowsley Under 9's League where we performed well before winning tournaments at Wingerworth and Ashover. Shaun Whelan managed our 'Feeder Squad' for kids Under 8 years-old and these youngsters played friendly matches on a regular basis picking up a fair amount of silverware at local summer tournaments. The Club held a charity football match to raise funds towards building a school for children in Africa and we rounded off the season with a very successful Mini Soccer Tournament at Stand Road Park.

During the summer of 2005 the club saw a 'revolution'. With so many youngsters wishing to join us we put out teams in a staggering eight different age groups for the 2005/06 season. The Club was rapidly expanding and only a year after our formation we had over 150 registered players.

The 2005/06 season was a massive success story with our newly formed Men's team winning Division 3 of the Chesterfield and District VK Sunday League, whilst our Under 18's won the Rowsley League and captured the Sharon Rebbeca Cup to record a memorable double. Our Under 12's team lost only three games all season to finish third in the Rowsley League whilst our Under 11's, put together just before the season began, won 5 and drew 2 of their games and reached the final of a local tournament. Our Under 10's team won more matches than they lost and won the 'Friends of Stand Road Park' Tournament. At Under 9's level we fielded two teams in the Rowsley League. Our 'Whites' team finished runners-up in the league and reached the semi-final of the cup. The Club's Under 7's and Under 8's played in the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League where points are not awarded in the lower age groups. Our Under 8's lost very few games and reached the final of two tournaments. Our Under 7's team faced a difficult start but improved rapidly as the season went on winning two end of season tournaments. The 'lifeblood' of our club, the 'Feeder Squad', continued to develop players for our junior teams.

The Under 7's side had a good season in 2005/06

The end of the season saw our Under 18's team take on a Select XI in a match that raised £200 for children's Cancer Charity CLIC, whilst Under 8's Manager Shaun Whelan received a Coach of the Year award from Sir Bobby Charlton in front of 70,000 people at Old Trafford. It was a memorable season!

For the 2006/07 season we fielded no less than twelve teams. At Under 7's, Under 8's and Under 9's levels we played in the Sheffield District Junior Sunday League. In the Rowsley League we fielded Under 8's and Under 9's teams in their Saturday Morning sections plus teams at Under 10's, 11's, 12's and 13's levels in the League's Sunday section. Our previous season's successful Under 18's team joined our existing Men's team in The Chesterfield and District VK Vodka Kick Sunday Football League. The season was another huge success. At our Charity Day we raised £400-00 for Ashgate Hospice but before this our Under 9's Team had finished runners-up in the Sheffield League and reached the semi-final of the cup. Our Under 9's Saturday Team and Under 12's came third in their respective leagues, whilst the Under 11's had a very good season. In addition, our Under 8's Saturday Team and Under 10's Whites reached the semi-final stages of their cups whilst the Under 8's were beaten on penalties in the final of the Rowsley League's Tournament, where our Under 9's reached the semi-final stages. The climax to the season saw our Men's First Team lift the Alma Cup at Saltergate. It was a memorable season!

For the 2007/2008 season we introduced several new teams including the set up of our first girls teams. The Club has acheived the Football Asociation's Charter Standard and become affiliated to the Derby County Development Programme. This was in addition to the Club capturing the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Sports Club of the Year Award. Further to this, we were also voted the Derbyshire sports club of the year award winners for 2007.

Things are going well at the club, which is grateful for finacial assistance in the shape of grants and sponsorship provided by companies both locally and nationally.
