About Us... The Club was formed in the summer of 2004 with its main aim at the time to provide the youngsters living in and around the Dunston, Moor and St Helens Wards of Chesterfield with a chance to play organised football. Club founder, Tim Sadler, was aware that junior clubs were not playing at either Highfield Park or Stand Road Park and he set out to change this. We kicked off the 2004/05 season with our Under 16's team playing home matches at Stand Road Park and they won the Sheffield and District Junior Sunday League's prestigious 'A' Division in addition to reaching the final of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County F.A. Youth Cup. We fielded two teams in the Saturday Morning Rowsley under 9's League where we performed well before winning tournaments at Wingerworth and Ashover. Shaun Whelan managed our 'Feeder Squad' for kids Under 8 years-old and these youngsters played friendly matches on a regular basis picking up a fair amount of silverware at local summer tournaments. The Club held a charity football match to raise funds towards building a school for children in Africa and we rounded off the season with a very successful Mini Soccer Tournament at Stand Road Park.
During
the summer of 2005 the club saw a 'revolution'. With so many youngsters
wishing to join us we put out teams in a staggering eight different age
groups for the 2005/06 season. The Club was rapidly expanding and only
a year after our formation we had over 150 registered players.
For the 2006/07
season we fielded no less than twelve teams. At Under 7's, Under 8's and
Under 9's levels we played in the Sheffield District Junior Sunday League.
In the Rowsley League we fielded Under 8's and Under 9's teams in their
Saturday Morning sections plus teams at Under 10's, 11's, 12's and 13's
levels in the League's Sunday section. The season was another huge success.
2008/09 saw the Men's First Team lift their second trophy in three seasons lifting the Byron Cup, again at Saltergate and finishing runners-up in the League. The club received Derbyshire County FA's Charter Standard Club of the Year at Derby County's Pride Park and our under 7's won an invitational tournament at Aston Villa Football Club.
2009/10 saw us field 26 teams in 8 different leagues. The club did very well in Tournaments picking up a number of trophies. At the end of the season it held its first 'Masters' competition of teams made up parents and coaches.
After a quiet season before, 2010/11 turned into a great season for the club. Chesterfield FC's new B2NET stadium was the venue for the club's first Sportsman's Evening event and on the pitch Tim Sadler received the FA Charter Standard Community Club Award. The Girls team picked up their first trophies with the League and Cup double. Two of the three under 10's in the Chad Mansfield League won trophies with the third reaching the Cup Final. The under 9's also did the double. The feeder squad and under 7's continued to excel and the season finished on a high for Simon Dixon's u13's who travelled to Italy for a football tournament against teams which included Bari's Academy and the Juventus Soccer School.
As 2011/12 season starts things are going very well at the club. The club has made great strides over its first seven seasons and it has is grateful for the financial assistance it receives in the shape of grants and sponsorship provided by companies both locally and nationally.
