Match
Reports
| 3 Apr | A | Kirkby Community | D | 4-4 | Luke 2, Jack 2 |
| This
was to be a tough game as didn't want the lads to think it would
be a walkover, and it wasn't. We started well keeping the ball and
doing some excellent passing moves but couldn't seem to slot home.
We went so close, hitting the bar and shots just going wide. The
keeper pulled off some great saves. We finally broke through after
about 20 mins with Luke Walters Scoring. Jack Barton followed up
10 min later with another making it 2-0.
With
minutes to go in the first half a corner broke to their striker
who turned and shot. Mac Dale (Keeper) got his hand to it but
couldn't stop it going in the back of the net making it 2-1. Then
it started to be like tennis, Town scored, Kirkby scored, Town
scored again followed by Kirkby. Final score was 4-4. A fair result
but disappointing for Town Whites as they should've done better. |

| 27 Mar | H | Kirkby Community | W | 9-0 | Luke 3, Jack 2, Conor, Ashton, Rob, Isaac |
| Lads
started very bright and took the their chances very well. We were
3-0 up inside 26 mins with a hat-trick from Luke Walters. We dominated
the entire game with goals coming from 2 penalties and a some great
striking from the midfield.
Final
score was 9-0. |

| 23 Jan | H | CAFA Cougars | W | 8-1 | |
| The
Whites confidence was booming with the previous results and again
we started well. Sam Labrum open the scoring with an underlap run
working well with Conor Markham to slot in past in the keeper. The
pressure again mounted and town should have been in double figures.
Again goals came from across the park with many players only just
missing the target, or the Cafa keeper pulling off some great saves.
One of which was from Rob Hepworths powerful penalty into the bottom
corner. The last goal came from Ralph Honnister who made a serging
run from defence, had some luck with a bit of skill then fired it
passed the keeper making the final score 8-1. . |

| 16 Jan | A | Heanor Staffs Torche | W | 12-2 | |
| We
knew this was going to be an interesting game against the new team
into the league. We turned up with 30 mins to go. They had half
a team, one player in a different kit, a big pool of water at the
side, wind and rain blowing down, no nets up and they didn't have
a match ball.
With this in mind we started with lots of pressure took the lead within 8mins. After 15 mins we were 3-0 up and looking good. The goals were flying in from all over the field. Shots were hitting the bar, post, going wide. After
a couple of mistakes we conceded 2 goals (one of which is a penalty).
We carried on with the pressure and finished off winning 12-2.
We should have scored well into 20 goals though. |

| 9 Jan | H | Codnor Boys Yellows | D | 2-2 | |
| An
interesting game after a long spell off due to weather and Christmas.
Could tell the lads hadn't played for a while. What with shots being
fired wide, passing going astray and fitness taking its toll. A
2-2 draw was a fair result. . |

| 17 Oct | H | Codnor
Boys Blue (Cup) |
W | 3-2 | Ashton, Rob, Luke |
|
What a game this was! Codnor who are 2nd in Div 2 came to play Town
Whites in the first of Towns cup matches. Codnor started the better
team taking an early lead making it 1-0 in the opening few minutes.
This gave Town Whites a push and they finally started playing. The
defence played like a brick wall again with nothing else coming
past them. Rob and Ralph were hitting everything that was coming
their way. The tireless Rich Stott worked well in centre with Isaac
Godinho. The whole team worked well and were winning everything
and eventually a chance came from a clever ball from Jack Barton
through to Ash who serged between the centre halfs and slotted home
to make it 1-1. Town Whites were in control, and moments before
half time, Jack Barton chased a ball down, to be pushed down by
a Codnor defender. The Ref made the correct decision and awarded
a penalty. Rob Hepworth hammered home to make it 5 out of 5 penalties
for the big centre half. Town Whites started the second like they
finshed the first - in control. Ralph Honnister launched a free
kick into the Codnor box for Luke Walters to latch onto and finish
over the keeper-making it 3-1. Town kept the pressure on but couldn't
score again. Codnor made a break and caught town, a ball was played
across goal where a Codnor striker was waiting (offside) and tumbled
over the ball pushing into the back of the net. The ref gave the
goal after speaking to linesman making it 3-2. With a couple of
chances from both sides and 2 minutes left, town whites broke forward
with John Stevens hitting the post. Final whislte blew with the
best team winning. Town Whites 3 - Codnor 2. Man of the Match Rich Stott . |

| 10 Oct | A | CAFA Cougars | W | 1-0 | Oliver |
| Within
the first 5 min it was promising for town as we kept the ball and
strung about 10 passes together. Cafa were chasing shadows. Town
kept pushing and were camped in Cafa's half for all 40mins of play.
Coming close a couple of times. We hit the bar, post, had a goal
not given even though the keeper scooped it from behind the line.
At half time it was still 0-0. The second half was the same as the
first half. Conor Markham, Ashton Hurst and John Stevens all having
golden chances to put town ahead. In the end a goal came from Oliver
Clark chasing down a back pass and getting a deflection from the
keepers keep off Oliver and the ball going into the net. The game
ended 1-0 when it should have 5-0! . |
|||||
| 26 Sept | H | Alfreton Town Juniors | L | 1-2 | Rob |
| We
played at home to Alfreton Town Juniors today in what was a great
match. Both teams worked hard but no one could open the scoring
in the first half. Conor Markham and Jack Barton came close but
no luck. Rob Hepworth also had a header cleared on the line. Town
whites defence was like a brick wall. Town whites started the brighter
team in the second with majority of play. Eventually a break came
when Rich Stott was brought down from a two footed challenge in
the box which resulted in a penalty for Town Whites. Rob Hepworth
slotted home to make it 1-0 to Town. With about 15mins to play Alfreton
pushed forward and gained a free kick. This went over the wall and
keeper. Sam Labrum made a great stop at back post (with his nose),
only for an Alfreton forward to pick pieces up and finish, making
it 1-1. Town continued to press forward and with decisions not going
their way, the ref not seeing a hand ball from an Alfreton Town
player and an extra 5mins of play they caught Town and finished
to make the score 2-1 Alfreton. Town had a last ditch push with
3 corners and 2 free kicks but couldn't draw the result. . |

| 19 Sept | A | Codnor Boys Yellows | W | 4-0 | Rich 2, Jack, Oliver |
|
Town
whites under 16's travelled to codnor today with only 11 men and
worked hard to win 4-0. It should've been double figures with
80% of the play in Codnor half. Town whites opening from a neat
free kick from Rich Stott to Jack Barton who turned on 6 pence
and slotted home. |
