3 Apr H Carr Vale Colts W 5-1 Tom St 2, Conrad, Mitchell, Nathan

todays game saw rampant ctfc under 12 rowsley take on carr vale in our penultimate game of the season.2 more wins would see the lads finish in 3rd place and possible promotion.
expectations among the supporters were high as ctfc were trying for a 9th game unbeaten and a league double over carr vale having also put them out of the cup earlier in the season.
the game kicked off with ctfc attacking the netto end.both sides found it difficult to get into there stride early doors and after 5 minutes ctfc had the first scare when nathan in goal came out to meet a long through ball, with several supporters shouting "watch the bounce" the ball slammed hard into the pitch and took off like zebedee over nathans head but fortunately over the bar as well with the supporters giving a collective sigh of relief.
ctfc started to get a few passes together and with skipper tom skill everywere took the lead when top scorer tom stevenson 1on1 with the keeper scored with great aplomb to put ctfc 1 up.the lead was doubled 5 minutes later when again tom stevenson scored when put through from a superb tom dargavale header giving the carr vale keeper no chance 2-0 ctfc without yet getting out of second gear.
the half was now beggining to petter out with ctfc,s back four of bobbsie mitch dan and george rarely troubled, when one final chance fell to conrad cott the flying winger who everyone thought had beaten the offside trap from jason froggats through ball slamming the ball home on the half volley,a late flag went up and after a consultation between the ref and linesman the correct desicion of offside was given.

half time

ctfc 2 carr vale 0

a bet was struck at half time between manager dean and nathans dad that he would score in the second half with the wind in his favour such was his kicking in the first half against the wind.

the second half kicked off with ctfc now attacking there favourite pavillion end with the wind.carr vale though started the brighter forcing the defence to now work for there money (x box or ps3 time ).mitch and bobbsie in the middle were superb repelling anything down the middle and with carr vale trying the wings dan and george batted them away to reduce them to long range shots which nathan dealt with immaculatly not dropping a thing.
joe ball was up and down in the first half working tirelessly and made way for kieron lord just after half time and it was from one of his runs and cross tha ctfc increased there lead.he skipped down the right to deliver a long cross to the edge off the box where conrad met it superbly to rifle it into the top corner,no offside this time wot a strike mark taking full credit on the side line for telling him to get in there.
carr vale continued to press never giving up but the midfield quartet of ctfc were everywere closing down and limited carr vales attacking force.dean made a string of substitutes bringing on will, jarrod, callum ,charlie and michel "jackson".
charlie nearly made it 4 with a fantastic strike just wide and will then got in on the act doing the same stricking the ball too well hitting it just wide.
kieron again went dancing down the wing to force a corner for ctfc.the ball was swung in and mitch met it superbly on the volley to score his first of the season to spark wild celebrations amongst his team mates.4-0 to ctfc and the game about finished.
carr vale attacked from the re-start forcing nathan into a superb save rushing out to thwart the center forward.
with time running out carr vale forced a corner,it was swung in from the right and bobbsie in trying to clear sliced the ball into his own net for a consalation goal.nathans clean sheet was gone and with only seconds left 4-1 was a fair result.
ctfc kicked off the re start and a last ditch effort from charlie struck the arm off the carr vale center back penalty was the cry and was rightly given.
tom skill the all action skipper grabbed the ball and in one of those "were where you moments" with the crowd chanting for nathan took a look to his manager and with a nod of the head from dean summoned his goalkeeper forward to take the penalty.
nathan placed the ball ,the crowd hushed, the players who could'nt watch turned away,a dad with fingers crossed telling everyone he would sky it.up he ran.......................................................................................bang right footed to the keepers left, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo he had guessed right, a hand to it,denied,.............noooo in it went 5-1 5-1 5-1 nathan set off to celabrate but was quickly brought down by all his team mates euphoric in his goal.(this to me was the best moment of the season, not because nathan scored but because all his team mates were jubilant for him as he his when they score wot a team spirit).the final whistle went again nathan was mobbed tears in his eyes"never thought i'd score"he said.
wot a game full of emotion for the reporter this side wow wot can you say 9 unbeaten 8 wins 1 draw waited a long time for this long may it continue,

Post match: Nathan would like to give a big thanks to his team mates and especially dean and mark for allowing him to score his first ever goal

27 Mar H Juniors Blues Reds W 3-0 Tom Sk, Tom St, Jason
todays game saw ctfc under 12 rowsley trying to extend there remarkable unbeaten run to 7 games ( i dont think many ctfc sides this year can match that feat ). they entertained junior blues reds in a probable winner take all 3rd place clash.with hasland winning last week a top 2 finish was now unachievable but the side were hoping to end the season on a massive high which could yet see them promoted.
ctfc kicked off attacking the pavillion end and from the off were quickly into there stride.the midfield quickly took control of the game and the 2 toms skill and dargavale were running the game.joe ball and conrad cott on the flanks were providing able support and with these 4 on fire ctfc were creating chances for the frightning pair upfront of tom stevenson and jason froggat.if i were a defender to see that pair together on the team sheet would give me sleepless nights.
junior blues were left defending for long periods of the first half which they did admirably.conrad having a goal chalked off for offside after 20 minutes seemed to spur the lads on.
the back four of george barker, robert pattison, mitchell hanon playing in an unfamiliar center half role and the ever improving dan stevenson playing at full back for only the 7-8th time were rarely troubled and keeper nathan"jack" cotterill was having a steady afternoon.
junior blues only real chance of the half was when nathan charged out to clear a through ball which he caught sweetly only for the center forward to get hit on the head in a freakish way, with the ball looping towards goal the gods were on our side and the ball landed just wide for a goal kick.i know they say you make your own luck but i belive its true that when your up there these things go with you as at the start of the season when we were down at the bottom that would have gone in.

ctfc ended the half on a high.the ref who was good throughout gave us a free kick 25 yards from goal out wide on the right.up stepped skipper tom skill to perfectly place the ball in the top left hand corner (reminded me of gazza againt arsenal in cup semi final) to give us a 1-0 half time lead.

ht ctfc under 12 1 junior blues reds u12 0

the second half started much the same as the first with ctfc in the frame of mind to get more and cement 3rd place in the table.after only 5 minutes tom stevenson who has been a thorn in the side of all the teams we've played putting us 2 up and the the superb jason froggat making it 3 two minutes later.ctfc now went for the jugular but could'nt add to the tally.dean made a string of substitutions giving the squad players who have been fantastic all year with there patience and support a run out which they deserved.micheal"jackson"mccirr who can consider himself unlucky not to start the game as he has been playing well came on up front with callum hancock, charlie eades, will ball and jarrod hickton sloting into the side without any of the rytham and intesity suffering.

junior blues rallied late on with a string of corners in the last 5 minutes which the defence dealt with with ease heading everything away and nathan was'nt troubled once.
the game ended with ctfc extending there record, players and supporters jubilant after yet another fine win and overall superb performance.wot dean and mark have done since christmas with the boys has been nothing short of remarkable and if the run for promotion is too late who cares i am sure i can speak on behalf of all parents and suppoters when i say it is now " LIKE WATCHING BRAZIL ".

new signing jason frogatt made his debut and wot a debut it was.in a game dominated by ctfc he scored 6 in an emphatic 7-1 win which to the reporters knowledge is this sides biggest ever win.every player again played ther part with micheal"jackson"mccirr completing the scoring.
man of the match was dan stevenson,a winger switched to full back who has grown into the role superbly
.
27 Feb H Carr Vale Colts W 6-0 Robert J 4, Jackson, Tom Sk
todays game saw ctfc under 12 rowsley travelling to carr vale hoping to continue there recent excellent form that has seen them climb the table.
ctfc kicked off playing down the slope in a steady fall of rain.a relaxed approach was evident from the outset due to our recent good form and our hosts lack of points this season.it was a good start none the less from ctfc which saw chance after chance go begging early doors whilst at the other end nathan had to be on his toes to field a few long range efforts.

ctfc finally opened there account when a superb inswinging corner from joe ball was met perfectly by jackson to put ctfc up 1-0.the central midfield pair of tom skill tom dargavell were begining to push forward with great effect creating chances for jackson and the trojan conrad cotterill upfront without being able to convert.robert "j" was working tirelessly upfront and got his just rewards midway through the first half doubling CTFC's lead with an opportunist finish after the Carr Vale keeper had dropped the ball. CTFC's back four of Kieran, Mitch, Callum and the ever improving Dan S looked comfortable despite a few late scares.

Half time Carr Vale 0 CTFC 2.

At half time Dean and Mark made sure the lads were aware of the danger of Carr Vale kicking downhill and told them to continue pressing forward and be on their toes at the back.

CTFC heeding the words of the management duo took the game to Carr Vale from the off attacking vigorously time and time again. The reward coming with Robert "J" extending the lead to 3 after 10 minutes. Carr Vale refused to lie down and forced Nathan into a couple of saves. After one of these he launched the ball forward for Robert "J" to latch on to after a superb flick from Jackson to make it 4 - 0 and a comfortably lead to CTFC.

CTFC were now starting to enjoy themselves going forward but continued to leave gaps at the back for Carr Vale to exploit. George on the left played a superb ball through to Tom Skill who fed Robert "J" to finish exquisitely for his fourth of the game and CTFC's fifth. Joe B and Conrad were now beginning to run riot down the wings both unfortunate not to be on then score sheet with the Carr Vale keeper pulling off a couple of splendid saves. As time ran out Tom Skill went through after another superb long kick from Nathan to round the keeper and make it 6 - 0 to CTFC.

CTFC supporters now wanted the clean sheet that had eluded them for three seasons. Carr Vale with new vigour and the 6' 1" midfielder pushing on started to cause CTFC back four problems. Dan S came into his own and dealt with most things down his wing with Kieran, Mitch and George tidying up, but it was left to keeper Nathan to pull off a outstanding double save in the final few minutes to earn his side and him a clean sheet that was the first for this side for three seasons.

And so the push continues. It is now five unbeaten and the surge for promotion goes on. Everyone can be proud of their contribution to this run and long may it continue to the end of the season.

Man of the match was Michael Jackson McIrr for his outstanding centre forward play. Special mention to the back four and keeper Nathan for their first clean sheet for many a game.

13 Feb A Juniors Blues Reds W 2-1 Tom St, Michael
todays game saw ctfc under 12 rowsley travel to neighbours chesterfield junior blues "reds" hoping to continue there fine form of late which has seen them go 3 games unbeaten.

the game kicked of at midday with the rain getting steadily worse.

ctfc started very brightly playing with a confidence that has been hiding away for 3 years waiting for the right moment to emerge.
attacking time after time and getting a firm hold on the game.then just as the reporter was arriving jnior blues were awarded a penalty totally against the run of play but the right decision none the less.with nathan bouncing around on his line the junior blues player took his eye of the ball and put the spot kick wide much to the joy of ctfc and there band of fans.

the game continued with both sides strong in midfield with ctfc 's tom d, tom s, joe b,and callum h giving more than they got in an effort to gain an initiative.the 2 front men of the excellent tom s and small in stature big in heart conrad c were causing panic in the "blues" defence but time again the last man was there to clean up.the back 4 of dan s, mitch h, at full back and the ever improving pair of bobbsie and kieron in the middle looked very comfortable with any attack that came there way and it continued that way till the half time whistle

half time junior blues 0 ctfc 0

as of late the half time team talk from dean and mark seemed to drag that extra bit from the boys and in an early attack ctfc took the lead. tom s played in superbly from midfield taking his time to slot the ball past the advancing keeper,to give ctfc a 1-0 lead.
this seemed to jolt our hosts into action and they started to get back into the game prompted by there very good central midielder who seemed to be at the heart of everything they did going forward.

ctfc held firm but "blues"were starting to get on top despite the tirless efforts of the midfield quartet and ctfc's back 4 who had looked very comfortable started to rush clearences and give away silly fouls.from one of these "blues"equalised. a free kick out on the left was floated in and with everyone staring at each other to clear the center forward stole in to cooly finish from 6 yards out 1-1.

in recent seasons this would have seen a collapse of major proportions from ctfc but not of late.they dusted themselves down and started to play again.it was now end to end stuff with neither side creating a clear cut chance.then with a few minutes remaining ctfc got a corner on the right. joe b swung the ball in superbly,it was too hot to handle for the keeper who could only palm it down to sub micheal"jackson" m who sloted home to send ctfc players and supportes wild.the final whistle went shortly after to bring to an end a very entertaining game in trying conditions.

ctfc's superb run continues with the whole squad contributing.as this reporter said early in the season if only we would believe in ourselves who knows wot the end may bring.

dean and mark must be given great credit for the recent run for none stop effort and belief in the lads.as must parents and supporters new and old who have waited a long time for this kind of run.long may it continue keep it goin boys
.
6 Feb H Darley Dale Juniors W 3-1 Tom St 2, Tom Sk,
todays game saw ctfc rowsley under 12 continue there mini revival with a win against darley dale 3-1.thats 3 games unbeaten and a steady climb up the table into 5th.todays scorers were tom stevenson with 2 and tom skill 1 man of the match was conrad cotterill.

30 Jan A Somersall Rangers D 1-1 Tom St
Today's game saw 100% top of the table Somersall take on CTFC under 12's in division 3 of the Under 12 Rowsley League. These two sides played out a thrilling game a few weeks ago Somersall prevailing 6 -3 at Stand Road. Perfect conditions ensued that a good game was again on the cards especially with a confident CTCF after last weeks win at home.

CTFC started the game very confidently amazing what a win can do. Somersall though are top of the league and showed their credentials early doors with a few long pots at goal. CTFC began to get on top early with Michael "Jackson" McGirr having a few early chances pulling them both wide. Somersall were looking a little disjointed at this renewed vigour from CTFC and with Joe Ball playing well on one wing and Charlie Eades doing a stirling job on the other surely it was only a matter of time before CTFC scored. Jackson was beginning to put himself about up front with great aplomb causing a usually composed Somersall defence all sorts of problems and from one of his flicks Tom Stevenson stole in to steer the ball past a very good Somersall keeper to give CTFC a 1 - 0 lead. CTFC continued to be on top for the first 15 to 20 minutes with Tom Skill stupendous in midfield ably assisted by Tom Dargavel who between them were everywhere. When Somersall did break through they found the back four of Mitch, Bobbsy, George and Kieran outstanding with Nathan not having much to do except field long hopeful through balls.

Somersall have not got a 100% record on top of the league for no reason though and began to find their rhythm, starting to cause a few problems at the back for CTFC as the hard work began to take its toll on all ten outfield players. Nathan in goal pulled off a couple of routine saves to keep Somersall at bay but an equalizer looked on the cards. CTFC though confident throughout looked like they would hold out until half time when a super cross from the Somersall winger found the forward in space who picked his spot giving Nathan no chance and Somersall possibly an undeserved equalizer although they were showing better signs towards the end of the half.

Half time Somersall 1 CTFC 1

The second half started with Somersall coming out and showing title credentials taking the game to CTFC who were on the back four looking tired and were allowing Somersall the initiative. Tom Skill then took on a Captain's performance rallying his troops by being here, there and everywhere galvanising the rest of the side into getting a second wind and starting to get back into the game. Dean made two substitutes bringing on Dan Stevenson and Konrad Cottrell for the injured Joe Ball who was struggling after a first half knock and Charlie who had given his all up and down for 45 minutes. The two substitutes added extra stamina to the midfield and CTFC started to create a few chances of their own with Tom Stevenson and Jackson up front causing Somersall problems.
It was now end to end in another enthralling game provided by these two sides. Somersall forcing Nathan into two great saves at the forward's feet and the Somersall keeper playing his part at the other end, and so it continued for the rest of the half with either side looking as though they could have won it at anytime which would have been very unjust on the other side as neither side deserved to lose such an enthralling game. The referee brought an end to proceedings with the final whistle and both sides were applauded off after one of the best 1 -1 draws I have seen. Great credit to both sides.

CTFC are now on a roll and are playing confidently and deservedly brought an end to Somersall's 100% record. They need to keep this up to the end of the season improving week after week and who knows promotion is not beyond our dreams. A special mention to the two unused substitutes Will and Jarrad who turned up yet again to be part of the squad and were unlucky again not to get on but it is hard for the management team to take players off when they are giving their all. It is a squad game though and I am sure that these two players will get their chance and not let the side down.
.
23 Jan H Wirksworth Colts Aston W 2-1 Tom St 2
Played Wirksworth in the league and won 2 -1, scorer was Tom Stevenson with a brace, man of match with a brilliant all over the park midfield display was Tom Skill. All of the players played their part in what was a good battling display.
.
9 Jan H Somersall Rangers L 3-6 Jackson 2, Tom St
A very entertaining game in arctic cold conditions was played between 2 sides at opposite ends of the table somersall the league leaders and ctfc again struggling at the wrong end of the table.

ctfc kicked off attacking the pavillion end but it was visitors somersall who started more brightly, winiing a corner with which nathan did well to punch clear and 2 minutes later forcing nathan into a truly world class save diving low to his right to fingertip the ball for a corner.ctfc started to get into the game with some probing through balls from midfield causing somersall problems jackson upfront getting on the end of a couple but unable to convert.

somersall then took the lead ,ctfc's inability to defend set pieces again in evidence as from a corner poor marking allowed a free header giving nathan no chance.ctfc 's heads did'nt go down though and from nathans long goal kick tom stevenson brilliantly got on the end of it rounding the advancing keeper and slamming home a well deserved equalizer.the 3 amigos in midfield tom,tom and tom (skill, stevenson and dargavalle ) and george were starting to close somersall down not allowing them time to play and when they did get through the back four of kieron, bobbsie, mitch and dan mopped up.

just when we thought we could get to half time on level terms or even in front,a long hopefull ball found the left winger and with dan closing him down he hit an hopefull shot from 20 yards that sailed over nathan into the roof of the net giving somersall a somewhat fortunate half time lead.

half time ctfc 1 somersall 2

there has been more resolve about the team this year and so it proved at the start of the longest half of under 12 football anywhere this year.ctfc went at somersall from the off and after 5 minutes conrad partnering jackson up front did well to get back and harrass the defender who gave the ball away to tom d in midfield his sublime ball to jackson was superbl controlled and curled into the bottom right hand corner from 25 yards giving the somersall keeper no chance.

but somersall are not top without good reason and came back strong.it was now end to end and very even until somersall again had an hopefull pop at goal which nathan failed to hold spilling it to the center forward who made no mistake from 5 yards out.
somersall now had there tails up and scored a fourth soon after when ctfc failed to clear and the center forward knoking in from 10 yards out into the roof of the net for a 4-2 lead.

again ctfc came back missing a few chances then tom skills superb run setting up jackson for his second and ctfc's third, game on.tom skills jinking run bringing a wonderfull save from the visiting keeper who also did well to deny jackson on a couple of occations who also missed asitter when put clean through by tom d.

somersall composed themselves though and after riding the storm hit back with 2 quick fire goals.making it 6-3 with 2 well taken goals.

ctfc were not giving up but time was surely against them with only afew minutes left at 3.12 pm. a few more chances were created at either end with the subs of callum, charlie, jarrod and will adding fresh imputeus to ctfc and somersall playing like league leaders. and so it went on..and on and on with the refs star trek watch in full reverse speed finally blowing for full time at 3.31 pm.

a great game to watch despite the cold and ctfc again not getting anything from a game they could and possibly should have. m o m tom skill tireless in midfield.
7 Nov H Hasland L 0-3
todays game saw ctfc under 12 rowsley take on recent bogey team hasland after last weeks morale boosting win.

ctfc could'nt have got off to a worse start as after 3 min a superb free kick from 25 yards sailed into the top corner of nathans net to put visitors hasland 1-0 up.ctfc heads went down immedietly and from there on in it was a one man show as time and time again nathan in goal thwarted hasland forwards in one on one situations as the ctfc defence failed to cope with the long ball to keep the score down.but not even nathan and his heroics could stop hasland scoring a further 2 from defencive lapses as hasland took firm control.again nathan excelled producing a smart save to deny a rampant hasland as the half wore on.ctfc nearly got back in the game as joe balls excellent shot struck the post on the stroke of half time.but ctfc went into the break a very fortunate 3-0 down thanks to nathan.

the second half saw a rejuvinated ctfc and what ever was said at half time by dean and mark struck home.
chances were created and squandered in what was a far better performance.the defence was re-shuffled and looked tighter although nathan pulled off a couple of super saves.and going forward we could easily have scored enough to draw if not win the game, but the hasland rearguard held firm and they ran out 3-0 winners.

mom was nathan cotterill a superb all round performance excellent bravery and superb handling
.
31 Oct A Darley Dale W 6-3 Tom St 3, Conrad, Tom Sk, Michael
todays game saw ctfc under 12 rowsley away at darley dale needing a much needed win after poor results of late.
a superb all around team effort from 1- 13 paid dividends as they put darley dale to the sword in a fantastic 6-3 win.
mom tom stevenson with a hatrick and further goals from conrad cotterill, tom skill and micheal"jackson"mcinty brought home the well earned 3 points.a special mention to the makeshift back four which was without its 2 first choice center halfs and were brilliant.
more consistancy is needed if we are to climb to promotion places but it is not beyond the lads
.
17 Oct H Arkwright Town
L 2-6 Tom Sk, Kieron
Man of the match by a mile was Tom Skill. Played very well first half and were the better side, basic errors cost us and then i changed it massively to bring players on and we conceded 3 late goals.

26 Sept H Carr Vale Colts
(Cup First Round)
W 3-2 Tom D, George, Kieron
CTFC under 12 Rowsley took a welcome break from the league to entertain Carr Vale Colts in the first round of the cup.
Having lost their opening league fixture in dire circumstances and not winning a cup game all last season there was little hope of recording a victory against opponents who finished well above us in the league last season.on a blustery afternoon ctfc kicked off attacking the pavillion end and started very brightly with joe ball upfront working well and midfield quatrtet of the 3 toms and callum closing carr vale down limiting our opponents to a few long range shots with the wind not really troubling nathan in goal although he did very well to hang on to an up and under from the heavens.the back four marshalled well by kieran and bobbsie and full backs mitch and jarred mopped up everything carr vale could offer early on and ctfc got their rewards with tom dargavelle scoring from a joe ball corner although it clipped callum on the way in.a huge cheer from the home fans for the first goal of the new campaign.half-time ctfc 1 cv 0.

expectation was now higher than it had been for a long time, 1-0 up playing well and now with the wind home supporters were v giddy as the second half kicked off.the carr vale number 7 was playing well however and carr vale soon equalised with a cool lob from the edge of the box giving nathan no chance.in many many previous games this would have led to a ctfc collapse but today the boys rolled their sleeves up and started to dominate the game, which again sent the home fans giddy having not witnessed this for many a game.midway through the half sub conrad took a quick corner with joe and as the ball was sent in it dropped to george just outside the box with the reporter thinking take a touch and pick your spot george hit it first time with a wonder strike giving the excellent carr vale keeper no chance.carr vale tried to rally themselves but the back four and in paticular mitch and sub dan playing at full back for probably only the third time ever cleared everything.ctfc pushed on for a killer third with joe sending in several brillant corners and tom skill bringing out a world class save from the carr vale keeper who also pulled off a few fine saves to boot.then out of the blue a hopefull ball from defence that should have been headed clear found the forward for carr vale one on one with nathan who was beaten to make it an undeserved 2-2.again the home side rallied showing a spirit that had not surfaced for a while to win the game and avoid extra time.with only a few minutes left ctfc got another corner and with joe putting superb balls in all match supporters urged the lads to get on the end of it.for once joe with tired legs from his none stop running put in a poor cross but out of the blue it fell to defender kieron who with the finnesse of cantona flicked it up with one foot and smashed it home with the other to spark jubilant scenes from all home players and fans which continued moments later when the ref blew for full time.finalscore ctfc 3 cv 2 and passage into round 2
